Programs

We are not just a masjid, but a community center that provides diverse programs and services for different age groups and audiences in our community. We aim to serve the entire family with events, programs, and projects that help them get closer to Islam and build stronger community amongst one another.

TARBIYA (Spiritual Programs)

The core of our work aims to bring the community closer to Islam and Allah swt. We aim to do that through tarbiya-focused programs, such as youth lecture circles known as Halaqat, small Islamic reminders after prayers known as Khateras, and special Islamic lecture events to give the community a boost of imaan known as Revives, which often feature Qiyaams.

These programs, created for youth between the ages 5 to 25, span a wide array of activities that cater to the holistic wants and needs of growing young Muslims, from seasonal trips like white water rafting and apple picking, sports initiatives, community service projects, mentorship opportunities, and professional development programming.

PACE (Public Affairs & Civic Engagement) PROGRAMS

The Public Affairs and Civic Engagement Department focuses on providing community members with the advocacy and civic engagement tools needed to shape them into civic leaders who uplift the Muslim American community as a whole and contribute to the betterment of society. Following the example of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we are dedicated to nurturing a social justice-minded community that stands against all forms of discrimination and injustice. Through this program, we aim to build a reliable Muslim electorate, amplify the Muslim community’s voice, and push for increased Muslim visibility in the social and political sphere while also working to provide resources to underserved populations.

Voter Registration

We aim to successfully build an educated, engaged, and motivated Muslim electorate through an integrated voter engagement strategy. Our power and our voice is amplified through our votes. With over a million Muslims in NYC, Muslims in this city have the power to influence meaningful political change, but only if they vote. The first step is registering to vote. That’s why we conduct voter registration drives on a regular basis to ensure we are empowering a community of voters who have a direct influence on the law and leaders that affect our everyday lives. Learn more and register to vote here.

We are dedicated to building a world that is just and equitable. A world where we stand strong against injustice and declare loud and clearly #BlackLivesMatter, that families belong together and we must #ReuniteEveryChild, and that Palestine should and will be free. That’s why we mobilize our youth to attend protests and rallies that aim to uphold justice for anyone and everyone.

Protest Mobilization

Awareness & Advocacy Programs

As Muslims, we believe in establishing justice on this Earth for all people, and are commanded to enjoin in good and forbid evil. In that spirit, our youth participate in and lead issue advocacy campaigns that shed light on injustices locally and around the world and how we can work to help solve these problems. Whether it’s supporting Syrian refugees here in NY, or advocating for the rights and protections of Uyghurs across the world, our community is organizing to make the world a better place through education, advocacy, and fundraising.
